He’s the ultimate grump, keeping people at arm’s length, playing hockey, starting and taking fights on the ice and living a pretty solitary life off of it. Mike Brouwer is an NHL enforcer nearing the end of his career.

It was heartbreaking.My heart is absolutely broken and I can honestly say that I loved every minute of this book. The book itself was very well written and the author is very talented, but damn. It affected me so much that I honestly wish I had never read it. Even though I read this a year ago, I literally think about it once a week. I’m talking uncontrollable sobbing, ugly crying to an extreme degree. And as I feared, I’ve never cried so hard in my life. By the time I realized the direction it was headed, I was too far in to give it up. Instead, this book emotionally destroyed me. Oh, how wrong I was because a fun book this was not.

I read a brief synopsis and thought to myself “Oh perfect, I love fun MM hockey romances!
